StrategyClear communicationsAnd funding channeled to where it matters most

Supporting the organizations doing the work on the ground. And helping donors maximize their impact dollars.

Blue Planet Contact helps environmental organizations and social entrepreneurs sharpen their strategy, tell their story with clarity, and secure the funding they need to protect the places and people that depend on them.

We also advise philanthropic funders committed to socially responsible land-based, coastal, and marine environmental protection. We help them identify impactful partners, vet opportunities, and map the landscape so that funding can move quickly to where it will do the most good. We are especially sensitive and experienced with managing Indigenous Peoples’ and Locally-led partnerships.

Services

Two pieces of the same puzzle

More than 20 years of nonprofit leadership, communications, and fundraising — applied on behalf of the organizations doing environmental protection work, and the funders who support them.

For Organizations

Strategic Planning & Leadership

Organizational strategy support shaped by two decades of hands-on experience on the ground, with stakeholders, and in leadership roles across environmental protection and social impact.

Communications Strategy & Assets

Messaging and campaign planning that helps you reach your target audience.

Capacity Building

Engaging teams in structured processes designed to strengthen management, inclusion, governance, and programmatic impact.

Grant Writing & Reporting

Compelling, well-researched proposals grounded in a deep understanding of the funding landscape and tailored to the funder's requirements.

For Funders

Philanthropic Advisory

Opportunity identification, partner vetting, and market analysis that helps funders allocate resources with confidence and purpose, not just urgency.

Ecosystem-level thinking: We read the field to spot where an additional funder’s capital would do the most to raise the impact of the sector overall.

Creating opportunities: We find promising leaders and back them with the funding and support to launch work that wouldn’t otherwise get off the ground.

Complex judgment: We help weigh the trade-offs behind a grant, such as whether the talent involved would find support elsewhere, and how the project fits into the wider ecosystem.

Coordination: We help judge whether a donor collaborative would add value in a given area and, if so, which organizations are best placed to join it.

Blue Planet Contact works with both funders and the organizations they support, which is what allows for genuine landscape-level insight. Active conflicts are disclosed and managed transparently.

On-the-ground experience across four regions and program areas. Our work spans environmental protection, social advocacy, and campaigns; public-private partnerships; monitoring, evaluation & learning (MEL); fiscal compliance and institutional grant reporting (USG, EU, multilateral funders); and event strategy and implementation at Conference of the Parties (COP).

Blue Planet Contact works with US-based organizations, and with international organizations seeking US-based financing.
